Jake Tidwell, DVM

Dr. Jake Tidwell grew up in Southwest Florida and earned his veterinary degree from Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine. After receiving a veterinary scholarship with the U.S. Army, he completed a one-year military internship in Colorado before being stationed in Guam, where he led a military veterinary clinic and conducted official missions across Southeast Asia and Oceania. In 2019, he became a Special Forces Unit Veterinarian in Colorado, specializing in the care of multipurpose canines. Dr. Tidwell was later selected for a surgical internship and residency at VCSG.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time outdoors—especially on the water—with his wife, Dr. Kristen Hinatsu, an ER veterinarian at VCSG, their daughter, and their three dogs and two cats.
