Dr. Shelby Verheuvel grew up in the northern Atlanta area and later moved to Savannah, Georgia, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology before attending the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. While in Athens, she met her then-classmate, now husband, Matthew.
After graduating, Dr. Verheuvel completed a rotating internship at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine before matching for a residency in small animal internal medicine at Auburn University. Her primary interests include teaching, renal disease, pulmonary hypertension, and autoimmune disorders.
Outside of veterinary medicine, she enjoys hiking, crafting, and reading as much as possible.
