Learn More About Dr. Hinatsu
Dr. Kristen Hinatsu earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Oregon State University in 2015. She completed a rotating internship in San Diego before moving to Guam, where she helped open the island’s only spay and neuter clinic and served as the lead surgeon for the Guam Animals In Need (GAIN) shelter. She also provided veterinary care for military families on the island’s two bases.
In 2019, Dr. Hinatsu relocated to Colorado, where she worked in general practice and with the National Mill Dog Rescue. She has a passion for surgery and animal welfare.
Dr. Hinatsu is married to Dr. Jake Tidwell, a VCSG surgery resident, and they have a daughter. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, traveling, wildlife photography, exploring new foods, watching movies, and caring for houseplants.
